About Walter Thompson

One of the most challenging issues that faces the world today is that of climate change, and as it is such a massive problem already, it is certain that in the future it could potentially jeopardise the human race. My goal would be to combine the modularity of Moshe Safdie's 'Habitat 67', with the green, lush apartments of Milan. If we can encourage/provide a way for mass-produced green buildings, the carbon footprint of our buildings would significantly decrease. Furthermore, with these prefabricated "eco-boxes", one could use much less environmentally damaging forms of concrete, i.e. high pulverised fuel ash content concrete. This doesn't infringe on designers creativity, but it does provide an eco-friendly solution in a world increasing in automation.
